In a world of fleeting trends, if there’s one piece of clothing that’s proved to be a constant essential, it’s got to be a pair of blue denims. There’s no other material that can single-handedly join forces with another style or texture to create unerring ensembles for every occasion. Think a bohemian blouse, a denim shirt or a leather jacket, these little blue babies can help you create a number of versatile looks based on your mood, whether you’re leaning towards that rock chic girl vibe or simply some classy style. No matter what your style or body shape is, you’ll definitely find a pair of denim jeans that enhance your curves and bring out the best in your style, thanks to their ubiquitous nature. Flared versions, ripped ones and even a little retro style bootleg, this blue-hued bottom has evolved from a casual go-to to something you’d even sport on a night out by simply switching up what you pair it with. And thanks to it’s multi-faceted nature, it manages to look brilliant with everything.
For this look, we went for a more casual look with a pair of styled skinny denims. The little rips on the thigh and the quirky embroidered patches add a playful vibe to the look as opposed to the straight-lined geometric nature of the collared top. The white shirt with the pocket motive adds a professional touch to the look and also breaks the continuity of the blue in the jeans and the striped top. The accessories were limited to a pair of star shaped studs to add definition to the face and a pair of neutral pumps to finish off the look. A blue smoky eye, that’s a major trend in the beauty world complements the blue tones in the outfit and the light pink lip creates that balance from the bold eyes. To bring out the versatility of the jeans, we styled the same white shirt in three ways to create different looks:
Girl About Town
The shirt tied around the waist is used to dictate a free-flowing look that’s all about having an edge. Something that takes you back to a little rocker vibe, albeit in a more classy and feminine version. The top bun with a few strands set loose is a comfortable hairdo and keeps in place for the entire day. Add on a pair on sunnies to beat the heat in this girl about town look.
Yes, every girl boss out there needs an outfit that exudes a powerful status and yet brings out that youthful vibe. Using the shirt in a coat slinging i.e. not putting your arms in the sleeves for all you fashion newbies, is a great street style staple to add an additional layer to your outfit even in the hotter months of the year. It’s also a great trend in general to take you through the evening.
That Androgynous Vibe
Adding on that oversized shirt, this time with arms through the sleeves, gives the entire look a little ‘borrowed from the boys’ kind of feel. To bring in a little femininity, the hair is left loose with a middle part and volume towards the top.
