One of the biggest excuses that people usually give about not being fit is that they don’t have the time to work out and take care of their fitness. With the hectic schedules and busy lives that we have today, regular fitness checks have become much more imperative than it was before. So just to make sure all your excuses about having no time are rendered moot, we bring you 7 ways to keep for even with a busy schedule:
Take the stairs: It is so much easier to take the elevator instead of the stairs, right? All you have to do is stand and you’re up, and so quickly too. But not only is all that standing around saving time, it’s also making sure your body gets more lethargic by the day. So instead of standing in elevators and then working on a StairMaster at the gym, just hit the stairs instead next time.
Take the harder route: If you work close by to your home, ride a cycle to work. If you work far away from work and have to take a car, park the car far away and brisk walk to your workplace. Basically, take the harder way to and from work. Sure, it is extra work, but the benefits of this extra work are monumental.
Replan your day: We know it seems like your regular day’s schedule is too cramped for any changes, but trust us, even the busiest of schedules can be rearranged in some way. Even if you can manage to take out 30 minutes to an hour, it is more than enough to fit some fitness in.
Drink hot water: Keeping yourself hydrated throughout the day is a must. Swap your glass of cold water for a cup of hot water, and let it do its magic. Research says a cup of hot water helps in weight loss too. And if it’s such a simple change, why not just do it, right?
Stand up!: In the choice between sitting down and standing up, always choose the latter. Studies say that those who sit for too long are at a higher risk for disease. Even if you do exercise regularly. So take a break from your sedentary life, and stand up!
Get your friends in on it: If you’re one of those who likes to hang around and chill out with friends a lot, and your friends are a part of your daily schedules, the best thing to do is make the time you spend with them productive as well. Instead of meeting them for a dinner or a movie, challenge them to a game of table tennis or badminton instead. Fitness doesn’t have to be a chore, if you don’t it to be.
