It’s one thing to have a travel plan, but it’s an altogether different approach to making sure you get photos of the place and all your looks when you’re there. Specially if you’re a blogger.
I love to travel, you know that already. But one of the milder obstacles of being an avid traveller who is also a blogger is that I want to capture everything I do and wear, even between cities and flights. Most times, I’m traveling with friends or solo, but don’t always have someone to help me capture these looks or memories the way I trust the production team at WWW to. But you’ve got to make the most of what you have, I’ve always believed in that! This last trip to Europe was a fun one. I shopped a lot and had a whole lot of fun in general. What you don’t know is that contrary to my plan, I didn’t go from a casual chic maxi from the IIFA Rocks night to something totally regal and formal in a gown for the main event. Instead, I realised that running between the red carpet and event, trying to get as much footage as I could on my phone, clicking my looks and the schedule details in general, prevented me from feeling the glam Goddess I thought I would feel like.
Cut to: massive chaos, hundreds of crazy Bollywood fans, non stop shoots, attending sub events in Madrid and much more. What could I do but tuck away that stunning bodycon gown I had for the night? I opted instead for a pair of my favourite formal(ish) Forever 21 pants and a Karisshma and Meherr caped crop top that I knew would make a lot more sense. I believe in keeping it real. You know that, too.
Shuffling between parts of the venue, grabbing as much as I got of the evening and then going into a 5am flight the very next morning for London (what was I thinking, really?!) This wasn’t the kind of day I’m going to forget any time soon. With makeup, hair, ironing and finding the right shoes to buy from Zara, I knew I had my hands full with more than enough for the time. Scroll on for the photos of my look from my last evening in the city of IIFA 2016, which I visited in collaboration with Le Eco:
