Of Divas And Stylistas

One of the (finest) results of my blogging journey over the last three and a half years is the fact that I’ve become so much more open to trying new things. While learning how to style myself since the early teens to gradually trying to find ‘my sense of style’, it took me the course of the first year or so (of my blog) to actually understand that I didn’t have to confine ‘my style’ to one fixed way of dressing. It made it easy for me to understand that I was allowed to be moody, change the way I wanted to look and that I could just as easily throw on a grunge look, as a Barbie-girl one. Come to think of it, the whole idea of picking your sense of style is a lot like life, isn’t it? You don’t have to constantly confine yourself to one fixed way of doing things – as long you’re in the right, know what you want and aren’t doing anything wrong to make yourself happy, you’re good to go.

With this particular look, I did something I’ve been meaning to try for a while: I often browse through magazines, Pinterest boards, international fashion platforms for inspiration. While it’s always good to look around and appreciate, it can sometimes be a little consuming to try and see if the same thing can work for you as well. And then I decided that I absolutely had to go ahead and give this a shot! So for the first time, I threw on one dress (open) over another, and decided that the glam side of my personal style needed a dash of grunge, too.
