But let’s not forget that while we’re at it, we always want to look good! After all, there’s way too many of us who appear to have the biggest grins with the nicest Facebook comments. So today I’m bringing to you, five essential products for travelling light, beautifully!

Fashionably Ever After’s 5 essential products to beautify your summer

One: Lakme Absolute’s under-eye concealer

This one’s a magic wand, believe me! I have the worst dark circles emerge on my face with tiniest of sleep disorders, but using a thin coat of this and blending it out on all sides is like a dream come true. Available in two shades, fair to medium & medium to dark, the concealer is perfect for all skin tones and textures.

Note: I’m not much of a compact/foundation person, and prefer to keep it minimal; so I avoid adding anything on top of it. However, a base of a face moisturizer before application does a beautiful job of blending it in with your skin. But if you don’t mind an add-on,there’s nothing better than cream-based foundation to go with it.

Two: Maybelline Eye Gel Liner

This two-in-one liner&kajal gel is the perfect cream for your eyes. Easy to glide on the lid, or a simple outline on the insides, this one stays on longer than any other product I’ve used and is totally smudge proof, from my experience.

Note: Much like most gels, this one too can dry up after a while. To elongate the life of this product you should store it upside down. Also, if it hardens due to unfrequent usage, take a bowl of hot water and leave it inside for about 5 to 10 minutes. This smoothens the gel once again, like it’s all new. A little tip for those of you who’ll be using it frequently: make sure you clean the brush after usage; if you leave it on, the gel sticks on to the strands of hair and hardens them. This can be pretty annoying when you get down to using it next and will also make it difficult for a one-stroke application.

Three: Maybelline Colossal Eye Mascara

I’ve seen female actors in movies and wondered how the hell they manage to get their eye-lashes to look that long and beautiful, without the use of fake add-ons of course. And then when you get to see those hot models in magazines, one can not ponder over the thought yet again. If you think like me, this product is your answer. The Colossal mascara by Maybelline is efficient with darkening and adding length to your lashes, and of course, you can shape them the way you want.

Four: MAC’s Mocha Matte Blusher

The blushers from MAC are undoubtedly one of the best, but the real trick lies in the choice of shade you make. I usually prefer Mocha Matte for a gentle mix of brown and pink. It suits my tan and adds a pleasant pinkness to it, while evening out with my skin tone too.

Five: MAC’s Ruby Woo Lipstick

This – is – the – shit! My latest obsession and an absolutely gorgeous, dramatic lift to your whole look. The starch red on the lips can take your overall avatar notches up by adding to the glam-quotient. A lot of people are skeptical about using a shade this ‘loud’ & ‘vibrant’ and also worry about whether it would match their skin tone. Well, let me tell you that no matter how paranoid you get about breaking out of your comfort zone and experimenting with something a little OTT (over the top), this one looks a stunner on EVERYONE! And no, there aren’t any exceptions.

If you’re worried about how to apply or use any of these products, remember, you can always refer to the previous tutorial. If you still have any doubts about shades, brands, products, etc. just drop in an email to me on and I’d be more than glad to help.

Travelling light is great. But make sure you pack the right stuff while you’re at it. In the meanwhile, re-check your plans and make sure to be careful about adding in extra equipment if need be – a girl can never compromise on the way she looks, can she?!

Yours Fashionably,
